Why a Green Cleaning Company?

Just like the cleaning supplies and products that you bring into your house contain harsh chemicals, the items that your cleaner brings in contains them as well.

Even worse, cleaning companies can often purchase commercial grade products that aren't available to the average consumer and those products may contain even more harsh chemicals than what you could buy in your local store.

Green cleaning companies won't use these harsh chemicals. Not only are toxic cleaners bad for the environment and the occupants of your home, they are also bad for the people that use them.

A cleaning company with an eye on the environment is not only considering the best interest of you and the environment, they are watching out for the health and well-being of their employees, which is a huge plus!

What to Look For In Green Cleaning Companies

Maybe you're lucky (or busy) enough to have to use a cleaning company to keep your house in shape.

First, you'll want to look for a company that is using non-toxic and/or biodegradable products.

Be sure to ask how they choose their cleaning products and if there are any eco friendly certifications they look for.

You'll also want to see what other cleaning supplies they use. For example, a company that uses a steam mop on your hard floors is more eco friendly than a company that is using some other kind of mop with cleaning product.

Cleaning companies that use reusable products such as rags and cloths vs. paper towels and other items that are immediately consumed and discarded of are preferable.

Whenever possible, it's best to find a cleaning company that is close to your home. The less distance your cleaner has to travel to get to your home, the better.

Finding Green Cleaning Companies

While these eco friendly cleaning companies are on the rise, not all companies have bought into cleaning the green way, so you may have to find some investigating in order to find the perfect company for you.
