Why It's Green

Most recycled meta tiles are made from recycled metal. Recycled products are always more eco friendly than products that are made from virgin materials.

Metal products are also extremely long lasting, and the longer something is able to be used, the greener an option it is.

Last, metal can be recycled again at the end of it's life. That means that it won't end up in a landfill somewhere.

Benefits of Metal Floor Tile

Besides being green, metal is easily cleaned with only a mild dish soap and water - no harsh chemicals required to keep it looking great!

Depending on your personal taste and style, metal can add a lot of visual interest in your home.

Metal is extremely long lasting. Once you've spent the money and installed your new tile, chances are that you won't have to replace it any time soon. In fact, you may not have to replace it ever if you don't want to.

What's It Cost?

Here's the big catch when it comes to this recycled flooring. Aluminum tiles start at about $35 per square foot and brass starts at $70 a square foot. For a standard kitchen, you'd spend approximately $10,000 for aluminum tiles alone. That's a pretty large flooring budget!! You also have to add the price of additional materials such as mortar and the cost of installation, which can bring your total cost up by $3 - $5 a square foot.

It goes without saying that metal floor tiles are not for those who are on a remodeling budget!

If you can afford it, recycled metal can be a great eco friendly flooring option. It's sure to get you a lot of attention from friends and guest.  However, for most people this simply isn't a cost effective option right now.
